Akerman Real Estate Associate Steven Paletz has been named to the Denver Business Journal’s 2026 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes emerging leaders shaping the future of the Denver region through professional achievement, community involvement, and civic leadership.

A fifth-generation Coloradan, Steven represents local, regional, and national developers across all phases of commercial real estate transactions, including residential, industrial, retail, office, mixed-use, and hospitality projects. His experience spans acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, entitlement work, financing, and construction agreements, as well as representing lenders in the negotiation of loan documents. He previously served as general counsel for a national homebuilder based in Colorado.

Steven’s notable work includes helping secure government approval for the Six Senses Telluride luxury mountain resort in Mountain Village and representing national lenders in connection with the acquisition and refinancing of  significant office and multi-family assets in Colorado.

In addition to his legal practice, Steven serves as a commissioner on the Colorado Economic Development Commission and is a member of the Jewish Federations of North America National Young Leadership Cabinet Executive Committee and is the National Co-Chair Elect. He also serves as the legal redress chair for the Rocky Mountain NAACP.

Steven has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Land Use and Zoning Law and Real Estate Law (2024–2026) and by Super Lawyers as a Colorado Rising Star for Real Estate (2024–2025).
