Akerman is pleased to announce that Litigation Partners Jasmine Pitt and Bryan Scott have been recognized in the 2025 edition of Super Lawyers magazine. Pitt was named a “Rising Star,” while Scott earned a place on Super Lawyers’ coveted “Top 100: 2025 North Carolina Super Lawyers” list. That list recognizes those who scored the highest across 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement as part of Super Lawyers’ rigorous selection process.

This is the seventh year in a row that Super Lawyers has recognized Scott for his outstanding work in construction litigation. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, construction law, and creditors’ rights. Scott’s litigation clients include successful local and regional businesses, Fortune 500 companies, banks, credit unions, and insurers, while in his construction practice he represents a wide range of lenders, developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and municipalities. Scott is a former chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Construction Law Section.

Pitt, who was named a “Rising Star” last year as well, focuses her practice on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience analyzing and navigating business disputes, general liability, insurance defense, and contract disputes. She represents credit unions, small and medium-sized businesses, and insurance companies.

Super Lawyers, a Thompson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The patented selection process includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.
