Tamara Savin Malvin spoke to U.S. Betting Report about how she expects the sports betting industry to develop in the coming year. In 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court opened up the country to sports betting on a state by state basis, meaning the industry is still in its infancy as states slowly decide whether to legalize it—a decision that can be difficult due to an absence of legal and regulatory testing, 52 unique jurisdictions with different standards for entry, and a lack of detailed framework.
“There are typical challenges and costs to entering markets, but here in the U.S., compliance is an extremely complicated and yet crucial one to navigate,” Savin Malvin said.
