Press Release

Akerman litigation Partner William Sentell served as co-editor for the recently released Covenants against Competition in Franchise Agreements, Fourth Edition, which is published by the American Bar Association. Sentell also authored the chapter on North Dakota.

The book provides a wealth of information about one of franchising’s most significant legal and business issues, including the most current statutory and decisional law in each of the 50 states and throughout North America.

Using a consistent and highly-readable “question and answer” format, the fourth edition addresses a host of topics that practitioners are likely to encounter as they consider the enforceability of these restrictive covenants. “This book is a great resource for lawyers, judges and franchise stakeholders. I am honored to have worked with so many talented authors and contributors,” Sentell said.

Sentell focuses his practice on franchise dispute resolution and related corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters. He has over 15 years of experience leading litigation cases from inception to trial, including matters related to franchise noncompetes and other restrictive covenants.
