Akerman is proud to announce that Litigation Partner Xakema Henderson has made Texas Lawyer's "Rising Stars" list. The list identifies lawyers under the age of 40 who are experts in their fields and have made an impact in the legal world.

Henderson focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She has experience litigating high-stakes matters in state and federal court. Most recently, she was a part of three-member trial team that successfully defended a $30-million fraud lawsuit. She has litigated a wide range of issues, including insurance coverage and bad faith matters; aviation litigation; and complex business disputes. She has defended restaurants, universities, and an international automaker in nationwide class actions, including in multi-district litigation. She and her team also have significant experience handling environmental coverage issues, including those involving emerging contaminants such as PFAS, PFOA, PFOS, and GenX.

Earlier this year, Henderson was also named to the Dallas Business Journal's "40 Under 40" list and "One to Watch" by The Best Lawyers in America.
