Bethany Blakeman focuses her practice on land use, water resources, environmental, and real estate law, counseling clients on compliance and regulatory issues related to the Clean Water Act, Rivers and Harbors Act, CERCLA, and other federal real estate laws. With a reputation for thorough analysis, Bethany is a valuable asset in navigating complex legal frameworks at the intersection of environmental protection and infrastructure development.
Bethany previously served as assistant district counsel at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in the Baltimore District. At USACE, Bethany focused her practice on legal matters related to USACE's Clean Water Act jurisdiction, including compensatory mitigation; engineering projects, like coastal storm-risk management projects; and environmental remediation, including the Formerly Used Defense Sites program. In addition to her regulatory work, Bethany played an integral role in the USACE’s emergency response and disaster recovery operations.
