Everett Stanley focuses his practice on commercial litigation, with particular experience in appellate matters.

Before joining Akerman, Everett served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Dana M. Douglas of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Honorable Jay C. Zainey of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. During his clerkships, Everett authored opinions and orders resolving dispositive motions at various stages of litigation, addressing issues such as constitutional claims, evidentiary matters, and contract disputes.

Everett graduated with high honors from Emory University School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Emory Law Journal. His student comment received Emory’s Myron Penn Laughlin Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing, as well as the national Burton/Law360 Award for Distinguished Legal Writing.
