Howard Janis serves as the firm’s Interim Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Howard oversees all financial activities for the firm and collaborates with leadership to further strengthen overall financial performance. He also works with the Chief Operating Officer on business and administrative operations.

With more than 35 years of experience in business, finance, HR, IT, and facilities management for professional service organizations, Howard has a particular emphasis on law firm pricing, business analytics, and client accounting. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Department Operating Officer for a 750-attorney firm, managing all aspects of finance, operations, and hiring for the Transactional Department. He was previously Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer for a large national business law firm in Columbia, South Carolina, overseeing all operational departments. Earlier in his career, Howard was Director of Strategic Pricing and Analytics in the Atlanta office of an international law firm, where he evaluated, reviewed, approved, and monitored alternative fee arrangements and special pricing proposals.

Howard is among the first Accredited Legal Pricing Professionals (ALPP) and has been a featured speaker at conferences such as LMA, P3, Ark and Thomson Reuters. He has participated in panels on pricing, client partnerships, and streamlining the RFP process, and was a panelist during the COVID-19 pandemic discussing the future of the working office.
