With a background in healthcare finance and as in-house general counsel to a hospital system, Marcy Hahn-Saperstein now serves as outside general counsel to hospitals, senior living facilities, physician groups and other healthcare providers. In this capacity, she structures, drafts, negotiates, and performs regulatory analyses for, a variety of corporate transactions. Marcy serves as Deputy Chair of Akerman's Healthcare Practice Group and the Co-Chair of its Senior Living & Care Sector Team.

On behalf of healthcare providers, Marcy drafts and negotiates equity and asset purchases, including physician practice acquisitions, mergers, restructurings, joint venture arrangements, facility and equipment leases, professional and administrative services agreement, facility management agreements, and other agreements that arise in the operation of their business. She also assists her clients with licensing issues, including obtaining approvals from regulatory agencies for initial licensure or as necessitated by M&A-related changes of ownership, and she counsels clients on corporate governance matters, including the preparation of shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and equity or asset buy/sell agreements.

Marcy previously served as interim general counsel and secretary for Boca Raton Regional Hospital and its affiliates. Prior to her legal career, she was a commercial healthcare banker, managing a nine figure loan portfolio to the healthcare industry for the US subsidiary of National Westminster Bank, then one of the largest banks in the U.K. Marcy's varied professional experience provides her with particular insight into the complex business and regulatory challenges facing the healthcare sector.
