Legal Malpractice Litigation:
Represented a law firm and attorney in a malpractice claim brought by a disappointed seller in a real estate transaction, who sued 13 defendants in connection with the sale of his multimillion-dollar home. Maria represented the only defendants to be dismissed at the motion to dismiss stage, with prejudice and secured an affirmance of the dismissal by the Third District Court of Appeal.
Legal Malpractice Litigation:
Represented a law firm and attorney in a legal malpractice action arising out of an over $150 million judgment against a former client after a federal court bench trial.
Legal Malpractice Litigation:
Represented a law firm and attorney in legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty claims arising out of an internal corporate investigation of a publicly traded company.
Legal Malpractice Litigation:
Represented an attorney and law firm in a legal malpractice claim relating to tax advice provided in connection with a complex loan transaction.
Personal Jurisdiction:
Represented an out-of-state law firm and attorney sued for various torts in Florida in action brought by a Florida attorney who hired defendants to represent him out of state. Maria secured a dismissal with prejudice for lack of personal jurisdiction and then secured an affirmance of the dismissal by the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

Conducted extensive litigation due diligence and risk analysis for a client seeking to lend a multimillion-dollar loan for a large-scale development project.
