Meaghan Hassan represents clients in navigating complex land use and zoning matters, guiding development projects from concept through approval. She advises developers, property owners, and municipal entities on securing land use entitlements, preparing zoning analyses, and presenting applications before municipal boards and commissions for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
Meaghan’s practice also includes preparing detailed land use memoranda, resolutions, and decisions for municipal clients, as well as representing clients in Article 78 proceedings that challenge and defend municipal land use determinations. She collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and environmental consultants, and regularly engages with elected and appointed officials to strategically advance client objectives.
Her experience further extends to advising clients on compliance with state funding and affordable housing requirements, as well as preparing industrial development agency applications in connection with Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreements. She has also supported litigation involving title disputes, easements, boundary issues, and regulatory challenges pertaining to state-owned land. She also conducted legal research and assisted in litigation matters involving landlord-tenant law and cooperative and condominium issues.
