Owen Behrens focuses his practice on patent prosecution and strategic intellectual property counseling, drafting patent applications and claims across a wide range of technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning, financial technology, medical devices, biotechnology, chemical formulations, renewable energy, and material science. He regularly prosecutes applications to allowance before the United States and international patent offices, and develops and presents Freedom-to-Operate and patentability analyses for clients in fields such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and fintech.

Owen also litigates intellectual property matters before the PTAB and TTAB, achieving successful cancellations of infringing patents, claims, and trademarks. He has significant experience managing large IP portfolios, overseeing the preparation and filing of new patents and trademark registrations across four continents.
