For nearly four decades, Rory McEvoy has practiced exclusively in the field of labor and employment law, including litigation in federal and state courts and before federal, state and local anti-discrimination agencies. Rory represents many of New York’s large hospitals and healthcare systems, including the system which is the largest private employer in New York City with more than 40,000 employees. Rory is intimately familiar with the growing labor and employment challenges faced by the healthcare industry that arise out of HIPAA compliance, privacy issues, residency programs, graduate medical education, quality assurance, and patient care and safety.

In addition to litigation, Rory represents his healthcare clients in proceedings before the Public Health Council and in peer review medical staff hearings. He also routinely handles matters involving collective bargaining negotiations, arbitrations, unfair labor practices and union representation proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. Rory also represents his healthcare clients in all other aspects of the  employment relationship, including non-compete litigation, negotiation and enforcement of employment contracts, wage and hour matters, and common law tort claims like defamation, intentional infliction of emotional and interference with business relationships.

Rory also represents clients in other sectors including financial services, philanthropic religious organizations, technology, education, food service and office maintenance among others.
