Scott Allbright has significant litigation experience in state and federal courts across the United States. Within Akerman’s Litigation Practice Group, he concentrates on complex issues affecting public and private companies. Scott’s work includes breach of contract, fraud, class actions, unjust enrichment, unfair competition, deceptive pricing, and insurance coverage. Scott also counsels and collaborates with insurance companies to help them navigate the complex and challenging reality of litigating insurance class actions in Florida. Scott’s experience litigating insurance claims enables him to focus on the most important — but sometimes overlooked — aspects for his clients and to provide strategic counsel that aligns with the priorities of the business.

Representing and advising multiple clients in litigation and pre-litigation matters involving alleged deceptive sale and/or clearance pricing, pricing strategy, and compliance with relevant laws.
Successfully second-chaired week-long trial concerning statutory penalty for misrepresentation and concealment to a jury, obtaining a multimillion dollar judgment in favor of our clients.
Represented insurer in putative class action challenging insurer’s practices relating to waiver of Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage. Trial court dismissed the Third Amended Complaint with prejudice and, on appeal, the decision was affirmed.
Represented insurer in putative class action challenging insurer’s alleged failure to pay statutory interest on late-paid claims. Trial court dismissed the complaint with prejudice and plaintiff did not appeal.
Represented insurer in a putative class action challenging insurer’s practices regarding the adjustment of windstorm interior and contents damages claims. Trial court denied class certification and plaintiff did not appeal.
Represented insurer in putative class action challenging insurer’s payment of benefits under Florida No-Fault (PIP) Statute.
Represented insurer in lawsuit challenging insurer’s clear policy election to use non-OEM parts in repair estimates.
Represented insurer in lawsuit seeking six-figure damages for alleged pipe break. Following deposition of plaintiff, insured dismissed claim with prejudice.
Represented subsidiary of national health insurance provider in dispute with county over whether certain activities required licensure. Filed appeal on behalf of subsidiary and, roughly a week before the administrative hearing, the county dropped the violation.
