Tara Raghavan is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group who focuses on complex commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on real estate and hospitality matters. Her practice centers on representing owners, operators, and investors in high-stakes disputes arising from hotel management agreements, joint ventures, leasing arrangements, and asset-level transactions.

Tara has significant experience advising and litigating issues unique to the hospitality industry, including performance test disputes, termination rights, fee and incentive structures, operational control conflicts, and brand/management transitions. She regularly represents hotel owners and managers in disputes involving alleged breaches of management agreements, fiduciary duty claims, and conflicts arising from affiliated service providers, marketing arrangements, and third-party vendor relationships. Her work often involves navigating the intersection of contractual rights and operational realities, particularly in situations involving underperformance, budget disputes, and alleged mismanagement.

In the real estate space, Tara handles a wide range of litigation matters involving commercial leases, valuation disputes, shareholder derivative actions, and ownership structures. She has extensive experience with complex lease provisions, including fair market and rent reset mechanisms, and has litigated appraisal-related disputes involving competing valuation methodologies, highest and best use analyses, and expert testimony.

Tara’s litigation experience spans state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation forums. She is adept at managing cases from inception through trial, including dispositive motion practice, evidentiary strategy, and witness preparation. Tara is also experienced in drafting and responding to pre-litigation notices, including default and termination notices, and in developing factual records to support or defend against future arbitration or litigation.

In addition to her litigation work, Tara provides strategic counseling to clients on risk mitigation and dispute avoidance, particularly in the context of hotel operations and real estate investments. She frequently advises on structuring and enforcing contractual rights to preserve leverage in potential disputes.
