Akerman’s Los Angeles office is a proud sponsor of the 2016 Public Counsel William O. Douglas Award Dinner, an annual event recognizing pro bono and public service leaders who have changed our country and our world for the better. This year’s Douglas Award recipient is Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative in Alabama and speaker at the 2015 Akerman Firm Retreat. Akerman has partnered with L.A.-based Public Counsel, the nation’s largest public interest law firm, to provide pro bono representation for parents who are adopting abused and neglected children.
