Speaking Engagements

Adam Swick, Chair of Akerman’s International Insolvency Practice, will speak on two panels at UT Law CLE’s 45th Annual Jay L. Westbrook Bankruptcy Conference, one of the nation’s premier bankruptcy law programs. Each year, the conference brings together a distinguished national faculty of leading judges, academics, and practitioners for discussions on the most important issues in bankruptcy practice.

Adam will open the conference on November 19 with “Recent Developments – Part I,” a review of some of the most interesting and important recent bankruptcy cases. He will also join the Honorable Lisa G. Beckerman of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for the panel “Comparison of Foreign and U.S. Insolvency Regimes and Predictions for the Future.” The panelists will contrast restructuring statutes from other countries with Chapter 11 and examine current trends in cross-border insolvency, including the increased use of Chapter 15.
