Akerman is a proud sponsor of the Justice Arthur J. England, Jr. Celebration Event, presented by The Florida Supreme Court Historical Society, celebrating Arthur J. England, Jr.’s becoming a Supreme Court Justice and Florida’s first Jewish Justice. 

Justice England is known for helping to restore the Court’s integrity after several scandals and resignations. He pioneered the nation’s first program to utilize the bank interest earned on lawyer trust accounts to finance legal services for low-income individuals. He also helped open Florida’s courtrooms to camera coverage, making it the first state in the nation to do so. The event will include a lively tribute conversation featuring an esteemed panel of his friends and colleagues, moderated by Chief Justice Carlos Muniz.
