Akerman, together with the federal Opportunity Zones team, is co-sponsoring the National Opportunity Zones Virtual Forum. This webinar will also be co-sponsored by a consortium of private sector firms that are leaders in implementing the Opportunity Zones (OZ) program: NES Financial, Brevet Capital, and Cantor Fitzgerald. Participants will review the OZ program to date as well as plans and options for the future. 

 The panels will focus on:

• A critique of the OZ Program
• Enhancing Role and Benefits for OZ Residents and Businesses
• Leveraging Local/State and Federal Supplemental Benefits
• Transformational Projects in Cities, Rural Areas, and Industrial Cities

The OZ team will be led by Ja’Ron Smith, Special Assistant to the President and will include Chris Pilkerton, Director of the Opportunity Now program. Senior officials of agencies active in OZ projects will also participate.
