Akerman is a sponsor of the 37th Annual Environmental Permitting Summer School, presented by the Florida Environmental Network, Inc. The Environmental Permitting Summer School is the premier environmental conference and the largest of its kind in the state. The audience includes lawyers, consultants, engineers, state and local government officials, developers and landowners. 

During the 4-day program, Silvia Alderman, Chair of Akerman’s Water Task Force Practice will moderate a panel titled, “Environmental Permitting and Enforcement Update” and speak on a panel titled, "A Forum of Distinguished Speakers on Meeting Future Environmental Challenges," Robyn Neely, Chair of Akerman’s Environment and Natural Resources Practice will speak on two panels titled, "Land and Golf Course Redevelopment: Opportunities and Challenges," and “Florida Brownfields: A Comprehensive Technical, Regulatory, and Legal Update,” Stephen Tilbrook will speak on a panel titled, “Waste Management Programs Overview,” Spencer Crowley will speak on a panel titled, “Permitting and Development in the Marine Environment,” and Jason Lichtstein will speak on a panel titled, “Hot Topics/Emerging Issues in Waste Management.”
