Akerman is a proud sponsor of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Jersey 50 Years and Beyond Gala. The event will feature a silent auction, cocktail reception, dinner, and awards ceremony honoring Kevin Kenny, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Alliant Americas. 

This annual fundraising event supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Jersey. As a one-on-one mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters was founded to focus less on specific problems after they occur, and more on meeting youths' most basic developmental needs. Studies have found that children enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs perform significantly better in school, are more socio-emotionally competent, and are better equipped to avoid risky behaviors such as truancy.
