Akerman is a sponsor of the 2021 Annual Conference and Marketplace hosted by the National Association of Professionals Employer Organizations (NAPEO). Brian Nugent will speak several times at the conference, including as a presenter for "PEO University," which is a comprehensive session covering all parts of the professional employer organizations (PEO) business and the significant legal issues that must be considered as a PEO. In addition, Brian will speak on two panels titled, "Inquiring Minds Want to Know – How to Prepare for Being Sold," and "The New World of Work." During the panel discussions, Brian will respectively cover legal diligence and ensuring a company’s operations are in good order in advance of an M&A transaction; and the current status of the American workforce and the challenges, both operationally and legally it proposes to employers, and PEOs in particular.
