Akerman’s Tax Practice Group Co-Chair David Blum will present on the topic of “Local Tax Issues in 2024" at the Council on State Taxation’s (COST) 55th Annual Meeting. Blum's session will focus on the most pressing issues from 2024 related to local taxes, including aggressive audit positions related to gross receipts tax in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and the Tennessee business tax; local income tax issues related to credits for taxes paid to other states and local jurisdictions; and the ongoing efforts of home-rule jurisdictions to bring their sales and use tax laws into compliance with Wayfair.
