Elizabeth Hughes will speak on “The Ultimate Power Struggle: Jurisdictional Matters in Florida Guardianship” at the 2024 Guardianship Seminar presented by The Florida Bar. 

The annual Guardianship Seminar will highlight the procedures, potential traps, ethical dilemmas, and litigation tactics that can arise when handling guardianship and incapacity matters. There will be presentations on minor guardianships, end of life issues, professionalism in the highly emotional guardianship proceedings, a legislative and case law update, and a panel on the role and responsibilities of the Court Appointed Attorney. The program also includes presentations on litigating verified statements, navigating jurisdictional matters in guardianship, and insights into the use of artificial intelligence in guardianship proceedings.
