Chair of Akerman's Real Estate Practice Group Eric Rapkin will lead the panel discussion “Digital Dilemmas: Legal Ethics in the Age of Social Media” at the upcoming American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) Annual Meeting on October 3.

As former Chair of ACREL's Committee on Professional Responsibility, Eric will lead a discussion with fellow presenters examining the ethical rules governing confidentiality, conflicts of interest, competency, advertising, and jurisdiction in the context of social media. The panel will also explore how these considerations affect transactional practices, including M&A, real estate, banking, finance, and corporate law, while addressing emerging issues involving artificial intelligence and other evolving digital platforms. Attendees will learn practical guidance and best practices for social media policies, training, and monitoring.
