Speaking Engagements

Eyal Berger and Michael Napoli will speak at the Annual Spring Meeting, presented by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI).

Napoli's panel titled, "Cross-Border Recovery in Fraudulent Schemes" will explore the various ways in which U.S. and foreign laws implicate the recoveries of victims of Ponzi and other fraud schemes, as well as potential changes to those laws.

Berger's panel titled, “Sub V vs. Traditional 11? Confirmation and Other Key Plan Issues" will explore plan-confirmation considerations for chapter 11 debtors in small business cases compared to those debtors that have elected to proceed under subchapter V, with a focus on comparing the cramdown requirements and select plan-confirmation issues.

An Akerman team led by Berger guided a client through bankruptcy late last year in just 33 days using an innovative strategy for prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcies under Subchapter V.
