A Message from Akerman's Chairman and CEO

On Veterans Day, we acknowledge and honor the service of all veterans, including the many in our Akerman Family who put themselves in harm’s way to protect and defend our country. Recent events remind us not to take our liberty and security for granted, and that it is the courage, dedication, and commitment of our armed forces that help keep us safe. Today is an opportunity to reflect on the selfless service that these brave few have provided to the many.

Freedom is never free, and a single day is never enough to thank our veterans for their sacrifices in preserving our personal liberties. That is why our Akerman Family works throughout the year to recognize and support our veterans in a variety of meaningful ways. In the past year, we volunteered more than 450 hours of our time to help veterans in myriad pro bono matters, including discharge upgrades, combat-related special compensation cases, legal name changes, expungement and record sealing, naturalization, civil litigation, and transactional work for nonprofits focused on helping veterans. Additionally, we recently established the Akerman Veterans Network to provide a formalized system of support, mentorship, and advocacy to help our veterans thrive personally and professionally.

Please join me in thanking our Akerman veterans, shown above and listed below, for their service to our country. We recognize and honor them today as we embrace President Lincoln’s promise to respect and care for those “who shall have borne the battle.” To each of our veterans, we are profoundly grateful for your service.

Akerman Proud. Akerman Strong.
