James Grice, the Chair of Akerman’s Data Centers and Digital Infrastructure and Renewable Energy and Electric Power Practices, will speak on a panel entitled “Data Centers” at the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) Annual Conference, PTC’23, one of the largest gatherings of telecommunications and data center executives worldwide. Mr. Grice’s panel will discuss data center site selection issues, power capacity challenges that face large campus deployments and the industry more broadly, and other significant issues impacting the data center industry.

Additionally, Akerman Partner Jonathan Beckham will moderate a panel at PTC ’23 focused on telecommunications and network services entitled “Peering into the Future: the Evolution of the Network-As-A-Service Ecosystem”. This panel will focus on an ongoing trend in industry and commerce toward massive digitization and pressures on communications networks for lower latency solutions, the decentralization of Internet exchange points, and a convergence of technologies closer to the end user.
