Jaqueline Arango, Co-Chair of Akerman's White Collar Crime and Government Investigations Practice, will speak on a panel titled "DOJ Whistleblower Program and Its Impact on Your Company" at the 2025 Corporate Counsel Conference. The panel will review the new program introduced by the DOJ to provide whistleblowers the chance to receive a monetary award in exchange for new information about “significant corporate or financial misconduct.” The new DOJ program compliments the DOJ's voluntary self disclosure initiatives and is designed to increase incentives for companies to self-disclose wrongdoing. The panel will discuss the impact of these DOJ programs on companies, their compliance programs, and internal mechanisms for responding to potential misconduct.
