Akerman lawyers Joanne Gelfand, Bankruptcy and Reorganization, and Odette Ponce, Litigation, will participate in the Cryptocurrency Symposium hosted by the St. Thomas Journal of Complex Litigation (JCL). The symposium will explore the impacts of blockchain on the legal profession and the role attorneys will play in shaping the regulatory landscape governing digital currencies and assets.

Gelfand is a member of Akerman’s Crypto Insolvency Team and will speak to the recent erosion of anonymity in crypto transactions. Ponce is a member of Akerman’s Cuba Practice Team and will discuss how the U.S. embargo impacts Cuban NFT artists.
