Kirk Davis, Chair of Akerman's Healthcare Practice Group, will be a featured speaker at The Master Class: Legal Issues with Mental Health and Substance Abuse 2019 program, hosted by The Florida Bar's Health Law Section. For this course, Kirk will present, "Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment in the Hospital Setting." The program is designed to be immediately useful to attorneys, healthcare professionals, risk managers, and other healthcare industry participants needing to understand more thoroughly the issues and problems created by the opioid crisis, involuntary commitment of mental health patients, changes in federal law concerning alcohol and drug treatment, and the increasing shortage of mental health professionals.
