Akerman has organized a fundraising event for colleagues and friends to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the world’s largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to curing breast cancer. The "Ride Breast Cancer Out of Town" event will feature an evening of bull riding and fun opportunities to contribute to Akerman's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® New York team participating in the 2013 Komen NYC Race for the Cure®, Run on September 8 in Central Park. The team is dedicating its fundraising efforts in honor of their Akerman colleague, the late Denise Sudler, who lost her valiant battle against breast cancer this year.
