Akerman and Tampa Bay's leading business organizations including the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, and the Tampa Bay Times Forum are presenting three briefings to unveil a new public-private partnership proposal by Akerman and HMS Ferries, Inc. (HMS) to start commuter, recreational, and tourist passenger ferry service in Tampa Bay. HMS is a leading provider of passenger vessel services in the U.S. The proposed service would utilize fast, low wake, catamaran passenger ferries across Tampa Bay to provide a transportation option to help alleviate congestion, and create a new mode of travel to support the growth in South Hillsborough County.
