Peter Larsen and David Blum, Co-Chairs of Akerman’s Tax Practice Group, will speak at the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT) Annual Conference in Fort Lauderdale. Blum and David McCormick at United Airlines, will speak on “How to Successfully Navigate State Income Tax Audits and Appeals.” The session will offer best practices when preparing for audits, tips on working with auditors, appeal preparation, and recent areas of interest in audit and controversy across the country. 

Larsen and Mike Maiter at Vertex Inc., will speak on “Commercial and Other Leasing Updates.” They will address different lease tax consequences depending upon the state, asset type and use, and lease terms and conditions, as well as unique exemptions.
