With more than three decades of experience in U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law, Maria Isabel “Marisa” Casablanca represents corporate clients and individuals in obtaining immigration assistance and benefits. She is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by The Florida Bar, was a member of The Florida Bar’s Certification Committee for Immigration and Nationality Law, and Chairs the Florida Bar Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee (11D). She has also served on national liaison committees with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Department of State. 

Clients seek Marisa's reliable counsel on the full spectrum of immigration issues, including obtaining employment visas, investment and business-related visas, residency for foreign nationals, and representing family members of permanent residents and U.S. citizens. She has developed significant experience in employment worksite compliance through liaison with USCIS, ICE, and the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section in the Department of Justice. Additionally, Marisa represents employers before ICE with respect to audits and counsels individuals on how to maintain their status in the U.S. and assist them in planning their permanent residence in the U.S. Her experience in the EB-5 field of visas stems from being one of the first Spanish speaking attorneys handling high net worth clients from Latin America.

A highly experienced litigator, Marisa practices in all areas of immigration law. She previously filed a petition for certiorari with the Supreme Court on an immigration issue that conflicted with different states. She has also filed writs of mandamus and habeas with the Southern District of Florida. Clients refer to her as the attorney to handle hard cases as she is able to think out of the box and apply innovative strategies.
