Akerman is pleased to announce that litigation partners Mark Bernstein and Benjamin Kemble have been appointed office managing partners of the firm’s Chicago and San Antonio offices, respectively. In their new roles, Bernstein and Kemble will continue to strengthen and accelerate Akerman’s relationships with business and civic leaders in their respective markets while guiding the firm’s strategic direction locally. As office managing partners, they will continue serving clients through their practices.

Bernstein represents business interests in complex disputes, with a focus on financial services and manufacturing companies. He is often retained to resolve bet-the-company disputes or those that could significantly impact a company’s business strategy or market position.
Akerman opened its Chicago office in 2014 with eight lawyers and has grown to more than 50 today. "I'm honored by this opportunity," Bernstein said. "I look forward to building on our strong foundation of success in serving and supporting our clients, our people, and our community. I am thrilled to take this next step, especially as we celebrate the 10thanniversary of our Chicago office’s founding."
Kemble focuses his work on litigating commercial and insurance disputes, personal injury matters, heavy-highway construction disputes, commercial premises liability matters, and defamation/business disparagement, among others.
