Law360, American Lawyer Media's Daily Report, Bloomberg Law and other media reported on the continued national expansion of Akerman's Corporate Practice Group, including its experience in technology transactions, M&A, and private equity. After debuting the group in July, Akerman's Data Center and Digital Infrastructure Practice is growing with new partners, with Jonathan Beckham in Atlanta as its latest addition. And in the capital markets space, Akerman's national corporate team is continuing to see client demand grow, largely in private equity funds, which led to the hiring of Michael Fulks in Winston-Salem.

The Daily Report wrote that Jonathan Awner, an Akerman corporate practice co-chair, said 2021 was a record year for the group," particularly in private equity funds.

"I’m seeing law firms that focus more on that sector of the market slow down their hiring, stop their hiring, etc., because of weakening demand,' he said. He added: 'We’re all pretty busy. It’s been good for us…'."
