In a Chemical Watch article, partner Felicia Leborgne Nowels and associate Li Massie in the Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice Group in Tallahassee set out what stakeholders should be doing to comply with the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA). Signed into law on December 22, 2022, the regulatory overhaul enhances the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) jurisdiction over and enforcement on cosmetics. The authors discussed the key elements of MoCRA, steps for product safety managers, and potential challenges for companies in the future.

The authors wrote: "Stakeholders should take the time now to review their products, policies, procedures and contracts with manufacturers to ensure they are in compliance by December. They should also work to ensure their company’s responsiveness to the additional regulations that the FDA will be implementing in the next two years."
