Crain’s Chicago Business recognized three Akerman lawyers in its 2022 Notable Women in Law listing. Amy Doehring,  Meg George, and LaKeisha Marsh are among the Chicago lawyers highlighted for their track record of setting legal precedents, winning big cases for their clients, and mentoring the next wave of women in law – all while finding ways to give back to their communities.

Doehring, Chicago office managing partner, represents clients in a wide variety of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts across the country, as well as in arbitration. Her legal practice focuses on the defense of clients in such industries as healthcare, food and beverage, engineering, manufacturing, and insurance.

George, an Akerman executive committee member, supports clients in real estate and municipal law matters, including the acquisition, sale, and development of real estate, land use and zoning, licensing, permitting, and subdivision.

Marsh, chair of both the firm's higher education and collegiate athletics practice and its government affairs and public policy practice, focuses her practice on representing colleges, universities, and related institutions on federal and state regulatory compliance, accreditation, state licensure, distance education programs, institutional governance, and collegiate sports and NCAA compliance-related matters. She has structured and executed a broad range of transactional, restructuring, finance, and corporate governance matters for colleges and universities.
