Meg George focuses her practice on real estate and municipal law, representing property owners, developers, and businesses in connection with the acquisition, disposition, and development of commercial and mixed-use real estate. She advises clients throughout the development process, with significant experience in land use and zoning, entitlements, licensing, permitting, subdivision, and other municipal matters.

Meg regularly represents clients before the City of Chicago and suburban municipalities, helping navigate complex regulatory and approval processes for a wide range of projects and property types, including retail, hospitality, residential, office, healthcare, entertainment, and mixed-use developments. Her experience includes securing approvals for high-profile developments, as well as obtaining environmental grants and financing for redevelopment projects.

In addition to her legal practice, Meg is a member of Akerman’s Executive Committee and chairs Akerman Strong, the firm’s wellness initiative. She is also a LEED-accredited professional and has been recognized for her leadership in the legal and commercial real estate communities.
