Litigation Partner Jasmine Pitt and Corporate Partner Kiki M. Scarff were named “Rising Star,” while Litigation Partner Bryan G. That list recognizes those who scored the highest across 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement as part of Super Lawyers’ rigorous selection process.
This is the sixth year in a row that Super Lawyers has recognized Scott for his outstanding work in construction litigation. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, construction law, and creditors’ rights. Scott’s litigation clients include successful local and regional businesses, Fortune 500 companies, banks, credit unions, and insurers, while in his construction practice he represents a wide range of lenders, developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and municipalities. Scott is a former chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Construction Law Section.
Pitt, who was named a “Rising Star” last year as well, focuses her practice on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience analyzing and navigating business disputes, general liability, insurance defense, and contract disputes. She represents credit unions, small and medium-sized businesses, and insurance companies.
Scarff’s practice focuses on investment management matters with an emphasis on investment adviser regulation. She represents institutional and retail investment advisers with formation and registration on Form ADV with the SEC and state securities authorities. She also advises investment adviser clients on ongoing business and compliance matters, and she is experienced in advising clients with regard to examination and enforcement-related inquiries. In addition to her regulatory experience, Scarff counsels clients on strategic matters related to structuring, forming, and offering private investment vehicles.
