Akerman is advising Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. (NASDAQ:OMEX) in its merger with American Ocean Minerals Corporation. The transaction, valued at approximately $1 billion, will combine the companies under the American Ocean Minerals Corporation name.

The merger combines Odyssey Marine Exploration’s offshore operations with American Ocean Minerals Corporation’s mineral resource assets to support the development of deep-sea critical mineral resources.

Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. is a Tampa, Florida-based ocean exploration and marine resource development company with more than 30 years of experience operating in complex offshore environments worldwide. The company provides offshore project development, marine operations, and regulatory support services.
