ORLANDO, Fla. – August 22,2018 – Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, today announced Ginny Childs, a partner in the Litigation Practice Group, has been named office managing partner of the Orlando office.

As office managing partner, Childs will guide Akerman’s growth and recruitment efforts in Orlando, while further strengthening the firm’s relationships with civic and business leaders in the region. She also will play an active role in Akerman’s pro bono and philanthropic initiatives, with particular focus in the areas of education and youth development. Childs will continue her commercial litigation practice, with an emphasis on business torts, complex commercial foreclosures, and fiduciary litigation. An accomplished trial lawyer, Childs also has experience litigating public records compliance issues and non-compete agreements.
Childs succeeds Charlie Brumback who served as office managing partner since 2006. Brumback, whose practice has involved counseling many of the nation’s largest financial institutions in structuring credit facilities and related transactions, will retire in November after nearly 40 years of practice at Akerman. He was instrumental in a number of bank acquisitions, including the merger that resulted in the creation of SunTrust Bank.
