Akerman litigation partner Kimberly Lopez Narbona in Orlando was awarded in the "Diversity and Inclusion: Individual" category at the Daily Business Review's 2022 Florida Legal Awards ceremony on May 19 for her efforts to advance diversity in the legal profession. Narbona also participated in a Q&A with the newspaper where she discussed the benefits of diversity in  law firms.

Narbona was quoted, "There is an advantage in having diverse minds addressing legal (or any) issues. In the legal profession, there is no single answer or solution. Further, it takes diverse perspectives and experiences to properly identify the issues. When different life experiences provide diversity in thought, we are better positioned to identify a solution that best meets our clients’ needs. When we ensure diversity in our law firms, we are enriching client services."
