Akerman partners Meg George, Julia Lissner, and LaKeisha Marsh were named to Crain's Custom Media's "Chicago Notable Women Lawyers" list. The publication features senior-level women who have made significant contributions to the legal industry and recognizes those who have made an impact in their business and local communities.

Chicago Office Managing Partner Meg George has experience with real estate and municipal law matters including the acquisition, sale, and development of real estate, land use and zoning, licensing, permitting, subdivision, and other real estate matters. Most recently, she worked on the $1 billion redevelopment of Chicago's Union Station and handled some of the area's largest zoning projects.

Partner Julia Lissner represents public and private companies and individuals in a wide range of business disputes in state and federal courts nationwide, and has extensive experience in preparing cases for bench trials, jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations; handling appeals; and conducting internal investigations. A champion for transgender rights, she recently assisted the ACLU and Transgender Law Center with high-profile appeals.

Higher Education and Collegiate Athletics Practice Chair LaKeisha Marsh provides a range of litigation, transactional, and counseling services to colleges, universities, athletic conferences, and associations. She recently served as interim legal counsel for Chamberlain University, leading an initiative to streamline policies for nursing student background checks and leading the Board of Trustees to revise its handbook and government processes.
