Akerman is proud to share that a team of our lawyers represented Sims Metal, a division of Sims Limited, in the acquisition of the assets of metal recycler Baltimore Scrap Corp. and its affiliated entities for $177 million, plus working capital and other adjustments to be determined at closing. The acquisition is anticipated to close in October 2023, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals.
With more than 260 facilities across 14 countries, Sims Limited is a global leader in metal recycling and providing circular solutions for technology, and an emerging leader in renewable energy. Baltimore Scrap is one of the largest metal recyclers in the American Northeast with 17 facilities across five states.
