Akerman’s Women’s Initiative and Capital Strategies Investment Group co-sponsored a March 8 event held at the firm’s West Palm Beach, Fla., office titled, “Financial Empowerment and Estate Planning for Women Professionals.” The event brought together financial services, estate planning, and wealth management professionals to discuss issues facing women as they plan for a secure financial future, including addressing best practices and strategies to counteract the pay gap, loss of earnings due to caregiving, and a longer life expectancy than men.
