Beth Alcalde and Meg E. George of Akerman LLP have been recognized in Corporate Counsel Magazine's Women, Influence, and Power in Law Awards for 2021. The awards honor legal professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law. Alcalde was recognized for “Innovative Leadership,” and George for “Collaborative Leadership.” Corporate Counsel describes the honorees as “business strategists, complex problem-solvers, and, of course, great lawyers.”

“Beth and Meg are both outstanding lawyers and leaders,” said Scott A. Meyers, Akerman’s Chairman and CEO. “We are very proud of them, and proud also that they represent scores of other talented leaders and innovators within Akerman, many of whom are also women of influence and innovation. We are thrilled that Corporate Counsel recognizes their extraordinary abilities.”

A noted employee benefits lawyer, author, and speaker, Beth Alcalde represents Fortune 500 companies and other public and private entities, including those in the hospitality, healthcare, and higher education sectors, throughout the United States. Alcalde is a longtime member of Akerman’s Board of Directors, and is also a current member of Akerman’s Executive Committee.
