Akerman is proud to announce that Crain's Chicago has named Amy Doehring, Meg George, and LaKeisha Marsh to its 2024 "Notable Women in Law" list. The list recognizes women lawyers serving in senior level roles who are making an impact in the types of matters they handle and the pro bono work they do, as well as their mentorship and civic service.

Amy Doehring serves on the Akerman Board of Directors, is the Chicago office managing partner, and is co-chair of the firm's Probate and Fiduciary Litigation Practice. She represents clients from a range of industries – including healthcare, food and beverage, engineering, manufacturing, and insurance – in complex litigation matters in federal and state courts across the country, as well as in arbitration.

Meg George serves on the firm's Executive Committee and chairs Akerman Strong, the firm’s wellness initiative. Her practice is focused on real estate and municipal law matters, including the acquisition, sale, and development of real estate, as well as land use and zoning, licensing, permitting, subdivision, and other real estate matters.

LaKeisha Marsh chairs both Akerman's Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice and its Higher Education and Collegiate Athletics Practice. She leads a bipartisan team of professionals providing strategic counsel on policy and regulatory issues, as well as advocates for clients before federal, state, and local governments and agencies. Marsh also represents colleges, universities, and related institutions on federal and state regulatory compliance, accreditation, state licensure, institutional governance, and NCAA compliance-related matters and collegiate sports matters, including name, image, and likeness. She has structured and executed a broad range of transactional, restructuring, finance, and corporate governance matters for educational institutions.
