Dale Noll has been named as a 2020 Business of Pride OUTstanding Voices honoree by the South Florida Business Journal. Noll, a trusts and estates lawyer, has long been an advocate in the LGBTQ legal community in Miami. He is a former board member and president of the National LGBTQ Bar Association, he currently serves as chair of Akerman’s LGBTQ Affinity Group, and he sits on the firm’s Equality and Inclusion Committee. The South Florida Business Journal’s honorees include “professionals across the LGBTQ market and the allies who staunchly advocate for inclusion in business, societal, and cultural life. Together, these individuals have elevated the region’s quality of life and [its] shared economic prosperity.”

“What advice do you have for young LGBTQ professionals looking to move up in the corporate world?
Be open and unafraid of sharing yourself with others in your professional life. This is advice that I must give myself at times when I find myself hesitant to reference my husband when speaking with others. People in opposite-gender relationships are not typically hesitant to note that they went with their wife or husband to a certain restaurant or on a vacation, so why should LGBTQ people be afraid to do so? Allowing yourself to be open helps build connections with people, and building connections is critical in advancing your career.”

"What advantages have you found being out in the workplace?
As companies concentrate on equality and inclusion, my voice is considered and sought. Some of my work to seek protections for LGBTQ persons has been recognized by clients. I have had clients comment to me that they see the efforts I have participated in and think that my hard work means that I will work hard for them.”
